  • Jean Pierre demonstrates the most effective method of using the wine glass to appreciate the nose of the vintage.
The nose being the collective term for all of the individual characteristics if a wine.

  • One of the virtues of increasing your knowledge of French wines within a group is that you can share your reactions to wine vintages and, perhaps, learn a little more

  • We'll think we'll try that again, but it's always important to keep a clean palette

  • And now on to the finer points of distinguishing the vintages. Why are the grapes and wines of one year be so much better than another, and how the vintner can improve the condition and maturation even after a poor growing season in the vineyards of south-west France

  • And now at last to wine cellars of Chateau Ducla. The vineyard's wine ages in these oak casks for three years under the skilled supervision of Jean Pierre. His family have have passed their skills and knowledge down through the generations for 350 years.
